POLK COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5Atlanta) - A Polk County deputy learned that protecting and serving sometimes involves dealing with a venomous snake.
Deputy Mike Jones was called to a home on Mountain View subdivision.
When he arrived, he found a group of children crowded around a large timber rattlesnake in a driveway.
Deputy Jones moved the rattlesnake to a new home, far away from the children.
The sheriff's office shared the picture of the snake so parents can remind their kids that timber rattlesnakes are venomous and their bites can be deadly.
