Police: Thieves target police vehicles

ATLANTA - It may be the last place an officer thought he would run into thieves. Early in the morning, a patrol officer pulled into the precinct parking lot off Lakewood. He saw juveniles running around, a car battery in the hands of one of the three.

Police said they broke into three vehicles, including a police car. Officers found they pulled a police radio from its housing, the same with the battery.

There was a short chase but within minutes all three juveniles were detained. Authorities decided to take them home to their parents.
