Police: Son arrested for shooting death of father found in Marietta home

Police in Marietta said they arrested they arrested a 24-year-old man for the murder of his 59-year-old father Saturday.

Daniel Walden Attaway was booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center Tuesday. Marietta Police said he was charged with murder, aggravated assault with the intent to murder, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a felony.

Police the Daniel Attaway told investigators he found his father shot to death inside the basement of his home in the 500 block of Hardage Farm Drive. Records indicate he called 911 just shortly after 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

While investigators would not release what evidence led them to arrest the younger Attaway, police did say they uncovered sufficient evidence that point to him being the killer.

No word on if he has a lawyer.
