Police: Several gunmen kill man in apartment

ATLANTA - A man is dead after several gunmen killed him at his apartment in southwest Atlanta, according to Atlanta Police.

Investigators told FOX 5 the shooting happened around 8 p.m. Sunday at the Aspen Courts apartments on Stanton Road.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner identified the victim as 29-year-old Rashaud Broner.

Neighbors said the victim leaves behind three small children, and at least one of the children was with Broner at the time of the shooting.

Preliminary findings show a group of gunmen knocked on Broner's door and, once he opened it, there was an altercation before the shooting. Detectives said Broner was shot in the stomach and later died at Grady Memorial Hospital.

The shooters remain on the run.
