Police search for possible second robbery and assault suspect

The Smyrna Police Department took a report of a sexual assault and battery that occurred near the East-West Connector and Gaylor Street in Smyrna.

Given the similar characteristic between the assault at Jonquil Park and the East West Connector, investigators believe the unknown black male in the composite may be the same individual.

Therefore, the Smyrna Police Department is again seeking the public’s help in trying to identify the unknown black male in the composite sketch.

The Smyrna Police Department received a report from an African American female who was exercising in the area when an unknown African American man approached her.  The African American female victim stated the unknown male made small talk with her before he suddenly reached out and groped her breast.  The female victim stated after being groped the unknown male then assaulted her by punching her in the face and mounting her with his hands over her mouth preventing her from yelling for help.

The suspect is described as a black male, 6’00-6’02 feet tall, weighing about 160 pounds, approximately thirty years old with a faded haircut.  The black male was last seen wearing a red shirt with black lettering and blue jeans shorts.

The Smyrna Police Department was able to obtain a composite sketch of the suspect with the help of the Georgia Bureau of Investigations.

Anyone who has information or can identify the subject in the composite sketch is asked to call crime stoppers at 404-577-TIPS (8477) or the Smyrna Police Department at 770-434-6666.
