Police have some unlikely help to solve a rash of apartment break-ins, a deer camera.

Two men stole several guns and jewelry from an apartment in Peachtree City Monday, but not before the victim captured their photos on a small, hidden trail cam sitting on top of his gun safe.

"It's very rare that someone sets up a good quality camera with good lighting in the right location to get a great picture like this," explained Sgt. Odilia Bergh of the Peachtree City Police Department. "This is wonderful."

Bergh shared photos of the two burglars on the department's Facebook page in the hopes that someone will be able to identify them.

"We've learned with social media and the way that we're going, that good pictures can solve crimes within hours," said Bergh.

The break-in happened around 12:30 Monday afternoon at the Retreat at Kedron Village and is the sixth such crime at large apartment complex in Peachtree City this year.

"We've had about half a dozen since the beginning of the year and it's a very similar method of entry into the apartments," Bergh added.

Police ask anyone who recognizes the suspects to call them at 770-487-8866.  They urge people not to approach or confront the men, because officers consider them armed and dangerous.
