Authorities had to rescue a suspect who ran off during a traffic stop and got into some trouble in Rockdale County.

Police said that Joe Hobson Jr. was suspected of trafficking narcotics out of a neighborhood in Conyers. When police located him at a traffic stop, they say he ran off onto a property on Dogwood Drive.

Conyers police with the help of Rockdale County deputies searched for hours until they saw Hobson's feet sticking out a drainage creek.

They say he was trying to use the spot to bury himself in to hide, but then got stuck.

Rockdale Fire Rescue was able to pull him from the muddy hiding spot.

He is now confined to the Rockdale County Jail and charged with several charges related to drug possession.
