On the one-year anniversary of the brutal murder of a 19-year-old woman, investigators return to the scene of the crime in Southwest Atlanta in a renewed search for Bridget Shiel's killer.

Detectives roamed the neighborhood around Oakland City Park, handing out fliers and asking neighbors to call in tips to police.

The body of the 19-year-old was found on May 31, 2016, shot multiple times across her body, and lying naked. Investigators believe Shiel was gunned down inside Oakland City Park in the middle of the night, just hours before her body was found.

Investigators now reveal that DNA found on Shiel's body matches DNA found elsewhere at the scene of the crime.

"What we're really asking is for the community to help us out with names of the individual," said Investigator Andre Lowe, who also said police have multiple persons of interest in the investigation.

For the past year, investigators have been trying to identify to find the two men last seen with Bridget Shiel, just hours before her gruesome murder. A witness came forward saying they saw Shiel at a DeKalb County gas station.

Investigators said they put Shiel at the corner of Memorial Drive and Rockbridge Road around 11:30 p.m. May 30, thanks to surveillance video from the convenience store. Witness report she was sitting in the passenger seat of her own car with two men. She appeared to be in distress.

Witnesses around Oakland City Park reported hearing gunshots just after 1 a.m. that morning. They do not know what happened in the timeframe between the trip to the gas station and her murder.

Family members also visit the scene of the crime a year later, begging for answers from the public.

"We really want to know what happened. We really want it behind us," said Beverly Tolle, Bridget's grandmother.

A large reward remains in place for any information leading to an arrest in this homicide investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Atlanta Police or Atlanta Crime Stoppers.
