Atlanta Police released video Thursday morning of a man involved in a shooting near the Midtown MARTA Station that wounded an innocent bystander.

Police first released the surveillance video to FOX 5’s Aungelique Proctor of a man who they describe as a person of interest.

Someone shot Maurice Leaks at around 10 p.m. on September 6 after he got off a MARTA bus in the area near Cypress Street and Peachtree Place.

Leaks told investigators he saw two men arguing when they started shooting.

"He said ‘I have been shot, I need you to call police’ and he laid down on the ground and stopped interacting with us," said Olivia Cambern, who encountered the victim after the shooting.

A bullet hit Leaks in one of his thighs.

"It is unsettling and nerve-racking. I live on the ground floor so...if there are stray bullets that is a little scary to me, so I really hope they find them," said Midtown resident Nicole Leffer.

Police stress that information from a tipster that leads to an arrest and indictment could lead to a Crime Stoppers reward.

Anyone with information about the shooting should call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS
