Police need help identifying man in hospital after horrific crash
Hapeville, GA - A young man who was in a horrific crash has been in Grady Memorial Hospital since November 14, and no one seems to know who he is. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation came up with a sketch of the man hoping someone has information about him.
Jay Bradley was on his way to work just before 4 a.m. that morning when he saw a car in flames on the side of Interstate 85 North in Hapeville. Bradley said he saw someone trapped inside the vehicle and knew he had to get him out.
“I think my relationship with Jesus Christ is what put me here and what gave me the will to do it,” said Bradley.
The black Infiniti convertible was upside down and in flames. Bradley said he had to cut the seatbelt to get to the young man and then dragged him away from the car. He said he was worried the car would explode.
“I have a wife and two kids, it was running through my mind the entire time, this car is fixing to go,” said Bradley.
Police said the young man is in his late teens or early 20's. He's between 5'6” and 5'7” and weighs about 150 pounds.
Jay Bradley said he thinks about that young man everyday hoping someone can identify him. He said he wonders what he was doing that Monday morning and hopes to one day be able to talk to him.
“Maybe I'm supposed to meet him and share my faith with him,” said Bradley.
If you recognize the man in the sketch or know anything about the crash, call Hapeville Police.
