Police: Man who threatened to kill mother, pets arrested

Police said they arrested the 24-year-old man who was wanted for threatening to kill his mother and even her pets.

Dustin York, was arrested Wednesday afternoon along Waverly Cove in Buford after receiving an anonymous tip.

According to police reports, York had threatened to kill his mother. Police said had started acting more aggressive than usual and began throwing things around the kitchen, according to the victim. At one point, the reports states York hit his mother in the back of the head when she attempted to leave the home.

Police told FOX 5 that York grabbed a pair of scissors and held them up to her face and threatened to stab her in the throat and kill her animals. The victim said that she kept a calm demeanor and eventually convinced York to take a nap. Once York went into the bedroom, police said she fled the house with her dog and met with officers.

The reporting officer secured two warrants for York. One warrant was for aggravated assault, and the other warrant was for false imprisonment.
