Police: Man removed from roof after several hours

A SWAT situation ended Friday afternoon after Atlanta police spent several hours attempting to get a man to come down from a roof. 

Police responded to a call around 5:15 a.m. Friday about an adult male on the roof of someone's home. It happened in the 300 block of 4th Street.

Responding officers tried to make contact with the man, but he refused to come down. 

Around 2:20 p.m., police confirmed to FOX 5 that the man was brought down from the roof safely. 

Police have not yet said is the suspect was armed. 

A SWAT team also responded to the scene.

Argonne Avenue was blocked for several hours between Ponce De Leon Avenue and 5th Street. Fourth Street was also blocked between Penn Avenue and Durant Place while police worked to get the man down safely.
