Police: Man charged in East Point shooting had been ejected from bar
EAST POINT, Ga. - A man arrested for firing shots outside an East Point bar had been thrown out of the business a short time earlier, according to police.
Investigators said it happened at the Ubar on Camp Creek Parkway just after 2 a.m. Wednesday. Police have identified the suspect as Ibrahim Oladunni. He is charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
As the suspect was leaving the bar, police say, he fired multiple shots in the crowded parking lot, then drove off at a high rate of speed and crashed his vehicle into a tree and overturned.
Responding officers approached the armed suspect and asked him to drop his weapon, but, police say, the suspect didn’t listen. An officer then fired one round, but missed the suspect. Police say the suspect then dropped his weapon and was taken into custody.
No one was injured.
