Police: Man attempts to abduct girl from Newnan home

NEWNAN, Ga. - Police are searching for a man accused of trying to abduct a child from the front of her Newnan home last Tuesday.

Investigators said the child's father spotted the girl talking to a stranger in front of their Pinson Street house. The dad told police as he approached them, the suspect grabbed the child by her coat and headed toward his car. 

The dad was able to pull his daughter to safety, but the suspect got away. 

Police said the would-be abductor took off in a black four-door Honda with a white or silver pinstripe along the side of the car. There could be damage to the rear wheels or tires.
