Police looking for knife-wielding CVS robber
GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. - You may notice increased patrols at several Gwinnett County CVS Pharmacies. That's because three of them have been robbed by a man wielding a knife.
The most recent robbery occurred in Lilburn, according to police. Authorities believe the man is familiar with CVS's protocols, and with the area.
In each robbery, he has used a knife, and has not covered his face in the last two, according to investigators.
"He comes in and shops around a little bit, after he shops he picks up the gun and follows the clerk up to register to act like he's going to pay for the gum," said Loganville Police Lt. David Hunt. "Somebody has to know who he is."
The first robbery occurred in Lawrenceville, and two weeks later, another occurred at the CVS on Atlanta Road, according to police.
Gwinnett County Police Corporal Deon Washington tells FOX 5 that during the Lilburn robbery, the man also demanded the clerk open the pharmacy. The clerk did not have the keys, and he left.
CVS issued a statement saying their employees and customers' safety is a top priority, and they are working with law enforcement.
Police believe he is sticking to this area because they believe he is familiar with it.
