Police investigating deadly southwest Atlanta hit and run

ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Atlanta Police are investigating a deadly hit and run in southwest Atlanta.

Early Saturday morning officers responded to Empire Boulevard where they found a man dead. 

"We have one male hit by a single vehicle," Atlanta Police officer Marlon Sutton said.

According to Sutton, a witness has come forward with information.

"The witness said she was driving northbound when she saw a driver headed southbound hit a man who was in the roadway," Sutton said.

Police say the driver left the man and took off.

"The witness says the car looked like a gray Hyundai," Sutton said. 

Police are asking for help in finding the driver.

"The vehicle should have front end damage," Sutton said. "The windshield may be cracked too."
