Atlanta police are investigating a carjacking in DeKalb County and a double shooting in northwest Atlanta early Tuesday morning.

Officers responded to a car wreck on Peyton Road and found two people lying in the road. Both victims had been shot.

Medics rushed the victims to Grady Memorial Hospital, where two of the three victims were listed mid-Tuesday as being critically injured.

Investigators said the crime spree started at the Pilot gas station on Bouldercrest Road and Interstate 285 with a carjacking. Police said two men shot taxicab driver Jacques Appolon in the mouth and took his cab.

They headed to northwest Atlanta where they tried to carjack a woman in a $140,000 BMWi8 on James Jackson Parkway.

Police said the suspects first rammed the blue BMW I8, and then started shooting, shattering the window before deploying the airbag.

Police said the taxi cab driver and carjack victim are in critical condition.  One suspect was listed in stable condition, the other suspect got away.
