Police investigating after body found on road

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - DeKalb County Police are working to gather more information about what happened to a person found dead in the roadway.

Police were called to the scene along Custer Avenue near Jandras Lane and Hillcrest Park around 2:30 a.m. The initial call came in as a person hit by a vehicle.

The body was found on a sidewalk off Custer Avenue SE.

Investigators spent several hours canvassing the area trying to gather information and evidence.

Investigators have not said if the driver remained on the scene or released the victim's name.
