Atlanta Police are trying to determine if weather played a role in the death of a man found unresponsive on an Atlanta street.

The Fulton County medical examiner will be able to determine how the unidentified man died once they perform the autopsy.

Atlanta Police discovered the body of an adult male at 55 Peachtree St, near Alabama street. The intersection is right near the Five Points MARTA station.

The possible weather-related death draws attention to the hundreds, if not thousands of people, who sleep on the streets of Atlanta every night.

The city has responded to the cold temperatures by opening an emergency warming station at the Old Adamsville Recreation Center on Delmar Lane. Officials say the shelter will be open for at least two nights because of the frigid temperatures.

Those in need received a hot meal, a warm blanket, and access to long-term services.
