Police are warning Georgia State University students and visitors to be more careful following a reported carjacking.

It happened just before 4 a.m. Thursday near the corner of John Wesley Dobbs Avenue and Courtland Street. GSU Police said a male student from another campus was visiting a female GSU student in Atlanta. The two were sitting in their car talking when they were approached by two men who were asking for directions.

The men ended up carjacking the two inside the car. Police said during the carjacking, the female student groped by one of the men.

Police describe the men as both being in their 20s, possibly driving a red Pontiac G6. One of the men was wearing a beanie hat, the other was wearing black pants and blue hooded jacket at the time.

The Atlanta Police Department is handling the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS.
