Police: Georgia State officer accidentally shoots himself

ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - A Georgia State University officer is recovering Tuesday after shooting himself.

The shooting happened around 10:30 Monday night on Piedmont Avenue in southeast Atlanta.

Investigators believe that the shooting was accidental.

Atlanta police said the officer was alert, conscious, and breathing.
