Police: Ga. Uber driver wanted for rape, burglary

A traffic stop turned into a much larger arrest after a Cobb County Police say they arrested an Uber driver for a variety of charges.

An officer performed the stop at around 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon on a black Jeep Patriot driven by 24-year-old Uber driver Kevin Emmanuel Jerome of Atlanta.

When investigating, police say they discovered Jerome had been wanted in Tennessee for two counts of rape, two counts of sexual battery, and three counts of aggravated burglary.

Jerome was taken into custody. He's now been booked into Cobb County Adult Detention Center.

His two passengers, who were foreign citizens, were detained and then released after police discovered they were just taking Uber at the time.
