Police find vehicle used in Cumberland Mall 'take-over' robbery
COBB COUNTY, Ga. - The suspect vehicle used in an armed "take-over" robbery at Cumberland Mall on Thursday has been recovered.
SKYFOX 5 flew over the stolen vehicle that was found off of Martin Luther King Drive in northwest Atlanta on Friday. Investigators said there were no suspects with the vehicle. Police said a citizen reported the suspicious vehicle at the apartment complex.
According to the Cobb County Police Department, five men, all wearing dark-colored hooded sweatshirts, entered Diamond Solutions around noon on Thursday, surrounded the employees, shoved employees to the ground and smashed jewelry cases before making off with an unknown amount of merchandise.
Cumberland Mall typically isn’t too busy during the weekday mornings which may have helped ease the thieves escape.
Investigators hope the release of the store's surveillance video will lead to an arrest.

In the video released by Cobb County Police, the robbers all were careful to make sure their faces were covered. Eyewitness Stephen Staney told FOX 5 he was stunned by what he saw.
"At first I saw two males run out the exit of the mall. Then I saw a third, he stopped before exiting, he had a gun. Then a few seconds later, three more ran out the mall exit," Stanley exclaimed.
Police said at least one person was armed with a handgun during the hostile robbery, but no shots were fired and no one was hurt.
Witnesses said they sped off in a white 2005 Mitsubishi Endeavor with an Alabama tag of 9083AM4. That is the same vehicle Cobb County crime technicians took into their possession on Friday. Police said they will go over every inch of the vehicle for clues.
Anyone with further information on the crime is asked to call Cobb County Police at 770-499-3945 or Atlanta Crime Stoppers at 404-577- 8477.
