Police: Escaped inmate back behind bars

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga (FOX 5 Atlanta) - A Georgia inmate was arrested Wednesday just hours after escaping.

Deandre Ruffin slipped out of work detail near highway 138 and Ravens Run, authorities said.

Ruffin told deputies he ran away because he had nothing to lose as he was serving 20 years.

It was not immediately clear what additional charges Ruffin will face.
