Police arrest man with AR-15 inside Cumberland Mall

ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Police have released new information in the arrest of an armed man at an Atlanta area mall on Thanksgiving Day.

It at Cumberland Mall as crowds of shoppers flocked to stores for holiday deals.

According to the warrant, concerned customers notified mall security after spotting a man with a backpack carrying what appeared to be a rifle zipped up inside.

Cobb County Police arrested 24-year-old Lecarl Weems for not having a permit to carry the concealed AR-15.

The mall’s policy states no firearms are allowed inside the shopping center.
