Police: Actress was ‘targeted' in deadly ‘heinous crime'

Atlanta Police believe an up-and-coming Atlanta actress, gunned down hours before her birthday was targeted. That new information was released during a press conference on Thursday.

It happened July 1 at a strip mall parking lot at 2100 Cheshire Bridge Road. Jokisha Brown, 35, of Duluth was found shot multiple times near a beauty salon she used frequently. Friends told FOX 5 Brown, also known to friends as "Kisha," went to get her makeup done at a beauty parlor at the strip mall, then was planning on going out for her birthday.

Investigators said surveillance video shows a person of interest in the case had been on the scene the night before and the day of the murder. They are calling her murder a heinous crime. They released a photo from surveillance camera from the night before the incident.

Her friends said Brown was a local actress, model and dancer for music videos. Friends said Brown leaves behind a teenage son.
