Police: 4 students shot on Atlanta University Center campus

Atlanta Police are investigating a shooting that sent four female students to the hospital late Tuesday night.

Investigators say it happened during a kick-off block party attended by about two hundred people at James P Brawley Drive SW and Beckwith St. SW near the Atlanta University Center. The party was taking place in front of the library at the AUC.

Police arrived on the scene shortly after 10:30 p.m. and found four victims injured; one was shot in the upper chest, another in the leg. The two other patients were grazed by bullets according to police.  Investigators say two groups got into some type of altercation and someone fired four rounds from a 9-millimeter pistol.

All the victims were  taken to the hospital and are in stable condition. Two of the students attend Spelman College, the other two are students at Clark Atlanta University 

So far no arrests have been made.

Clark Atlanta police are assisting Atlanta police with the investigation.
