VILLA RICA, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Two people were arrested for trafficking meth Monday during a traffic stop, according to the Villa Rica Police Department.
During the stop, an officer noticed a large bag of methamphetamine in the center console of the car. Officers then searched the car and found a large amount of pre-packaged edibles infused with THC.
Police said marijuana and a large amount of cash were also found.
Police identified the driver as Javonta LaShawn, 24 and the passenger as Ashley Rhyne, 24.
Authorities obtained a search a hotel room LaShawn and Rhyne had just left and found more THC, methamphetamine, and other drug accessories.
LaShawn and Rhyne both face charges in Douglas County and Carroll County for trafficking, intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug-related objects.
