PHOTOS: Rainbow Crosswalks Installed in Midtown Atlanta

ATLANTA - FOX 5 cameras were there Thursday night when crews painted a special crosswalk in Midtown Atlanta. It's a rainbow at the intersection of 10th and Piedmont. 

LGBT activists raised $40,000 for the project. They hoped to make the installation permanent, but the city would only okay it for this weekend's Gay Pride festivities. 

The 45th annual Atlanta Pride Festival gets underway Friday night with a party at the Georgia Aquarium.
