PHOTOS: Cumming veteran's 100th birthday bash

A special celebration took place last month in honor of a Navy veteran’s milestone birthday.

Robert Crook turned 100-years-old on Sunday, August 23, and his family threw him a birthday bash in Alpharetta. Crook's niece, Sherri, shared photos with FOX 5 from the big event and said her uncle enjoyed himself and was emotional at times.

Crook was born in 1915 and grew up in Georgia. His niece told FOX 5 he enjoys spending time with his family. Family members told us the key to Crook’s long life is his positive attitude. He is also well taken care of by his daughter, Robin.

Crook has two children and two-grandchildren.
