WHITE COUNTY, Ga. - Officials told FOX 5 one person died after an explosion at a home in White County Friday.
White County firefighters responded Friday morning to the explosion and fire on Duncan Bridge Road. Authorities said the explosion happened shortly after 10:30 a.m.
“The exact cause of this explosion is still under investigation,” Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner Ralph Hudgens said. “The body of an adult male was discovered in the rubble.”
A picture from the scene showed what appeared to be debris from a home that was demolished.
The scene of the explosion is close to the Habersham County line. Habersham County authorities said they were prepared to offer assistance to White County emergency workers, if necessary.
