Pedestrian Killed in Cherokee County

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. - State authorities are investigating a fatal crash that killed a pedestrian.

Family members said Stacy Utz was walking home early Sunday morning on a street without sidewalks in Woodstock.

A motorist, who is a government worker for the city of Milton, was traveling in his private vehicle heading eastbound on Arnold Mill Road.

Investigators said the older model Ford Ranger then headed off Arnold Mill, causing the front right of the vehicle to strike Utz. She died at the scene.

Georgia State Patrol troopers said they will look at all the evidence before deciding if any charges will be filed.
