Operation Homefront gives military families school supplies

KENNESAW, Ga. - Hundreds of metro Atlanta military children are now the owners of brand new backpacks.

Operation Homefront handed out the backpacks filled school supplies at the Georgia National Guard Armory in Kennesaw.

The giveaway is a part of the organization’s Back to School Brigade program.

Organizers said several companies assisted in donating supplies including Walmart and their customers.

The program has given out more than 300,000 backpacks with school supplies to military children over the past decade.
