One dead, at least two others injured in shooting

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - One person is dead, one in critical condition and at least one other was injured in a shooting at a DeKalb County shopping plaza on Friday.

It happened at the shopping center located at the northeast corner of Memorial and North Hairston drives. DeKalb County police said they are searching for the vehicle belonging to the gunman. A description has not yet been released.

Shell casings littered the parking lot in a crime scene that spanned about the size of a football field. Police said the shooting started in the front of the shopping complex and ended in the back. That is where officers found the deceased individual. Investigators said a second victim was found in the front and rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical conditions. A third victim was driven to a nearby health clinic from the scene.

Police said the victims did not appear armed. Their names have not yet been released.

Investigators spent the evening speaking to several witnesses and tracking down possible surveillance video.

It is unclear what prompted the shooting.
