One charged in shootout outside southwest Atlanta nightspot
ATLANTA - Atlanta Police are investigating a shooting in a southwest Atlanta parking lot Saturday morning that sent three people to the hospital.
The shooting happened in the 100 block of Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard around 1 a.m.
Police said they've recovered 10 to 15 shell casings have been recovered so far.
The dangerous moment happened when an altercation started between two people who were aquaintances. Police say a suspect, 27-year-old Ronnie Dunn, shot a 37-year-old man. Another man then produced a gun and shot at Dunn, who fled the scene in a Cadillac, police said.
"We know that some people were inside the establishment. Other people walked up and approached them outside the establishment," Atlanta Police Lt. Andrea Webster said.
Medics transported the 37-year-old victim to Grady Memorial Hospital. He is now in critical condition.
A little afterwards, Dunn and woman who was also shot arrived at Grady. They were treated and are now in stable condition.
After an investigation, police determined Dunn was a suspect. He is now in custody and charged with aggravated assault.
