One brother dead, another shot in DeKalb County

LITHONIA, Ga. - A brother is dead and another was shot as they were babysitting at a home in Lithonia.

DeKalb County police say the brothers, a 23-year-old and a 24-year-old, were shot outside a home in the 1500 block of Turnbridge Wells Crescent on Thursday morning.

According to police, the brothers were babysitting three children when the shooting occurred. The 23-year-old reportedly went outside to check on the dogs. Police say there was some sort of commotion and he was fatally shot. The older brother went outside afterwards and was shot in the arm.

The older brother is expected to make a full recovery.
