Officers: Armed robbery on Anvil Block Road

ELLENWOOD, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - A suspected armed robber waiting for his Uber was caught with the money and handgun on his person Tuesday afternoon, officers said.

Officers said a black male was identified by witnesses for robbing a Hibbett Sports on the 3000 block of Anvil Block Road.

Officers said the man entered the store, pulled out a handgun, demanded all the cash in the register and ran towards the wooded area near Bouldercrest Road.

Investigators found the suspect waiting for an Uber.

The money and gun used in the robbery were recovered from the suspect.
