AUBURN, Ala. - Following Auburn University’s win over Louisiana State University on Saturday, an oak tree at Toomer’s Corner was set on fire.
A YouTube video shows what appears to be a man walk up to the tree, which is draped in what appears to be toilet tissue, before the tree ignites into flames.
Auburn’s Athletic Director Jay Jacobs tweeted Sunday that a suspect had been arrested by Auburn Police.
According to several media reports, the suspect is a 29-year-old man from Auburn. He reportedly faces charges for intentionally setting the fire and public intoxication.
Auburn beat LSU, 18–13, Saturday night after a last-second LSU touchdown was deemed invalid by officials.
