North Carolina goes to Trump, Clinton
CHARLOTTE, NC - North Carolina voters hit the polls Tuesday to make their choices for the presidential candidates and nominations for governor and other local contests.
Polls opened at 6:30 a.m. and were open until 7:30 p.m. Those who hadn't registered to vote were not be able to cast a ballot.
Those who did not have an acceptable photo i.d. were also not able to cast a ballot.
More than 56,000 people cast their ballot during early voting in Mecklenburg County, setting a new record.
There are 72 Republican delegates and 107 democrat delegates in Tuesday's primary.
Fox News is projecting Hillary Clinton the winner of the North Carolina Democratic Presidential Primary, based on exit polls and early vote returns.
Combined with her Florida victory, Clinton has now completed a sweep of all Southern states.
Fox News is also projecting Donald Trump the winner of the North Carolina Republican Presidential Primary.
