Newton County officials find suspect in drainage tube

NEWTON COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - A wanted man was arrested after being found in a drainage tube in Newton County this month. 

On January 9, authorities responded to the 200 block of Helen Road in Covington in reference to a man wanted on warrants for kidnapping, aggravated battery, criminal damage to property and a probation violation. The suspect was identified as Victor Casper. 

As authorities responded to the location, Casper allegedly ran out the back door, attempting to avoid being arrested. 

Casper was later found by a K9 officer and its handler in a wooded area near a creek in a drainage tube. He was then taken into custody.

Casper was transported to the Newton County Detention Center.
