A Newnan woman is celebrating a very special milestone on Thursday.

Alice Huggins was born on March 29, 1918. Thursday is her 100th birthday!

Alice was born to farmers Tom and Tannie Crawford, of Clem, Georgia. She was the third born of 10 children and remains the last living of her siblings.

She married Denvil Huggins, and the couple moved to Coweta County where Mr. Huggins worked in the textile mill. Together, they had three children.

Mr. Huggins passed away in 2008. Mrs. Huggins has remained in their home in the Arnco Mills community in Newnan.

Not only did Alice come from a large family, but she also has many grandchildren. She has eight grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.

According to Mrs. Huggins' daughter, Margie Bryant, when asked about the secret to her longevity, she humbly says she has always tried to be kind and treat everyone well.

"And admits she's been blessed," Bryant told FOX 5.

A special celebration took place in Alice's honor on Saturday. She was joined by family and friends to celebrate her big milestone.
