Police are investigating a carjacking which injured a construction worker Monday afternoon at a school in DeKalb County.

The DeKalb County School District said it happened at Panola Way Elementary School. The district said a construction worker on the renovation project at the elementary school suffered “significant injuries” after being dragged alongside his vehicle. He was taken to an area hospital.

New video released on Tuesday shows the possible suspects. District officials said three men in this gray Mercedes targeted the construction. Authorities said the thieves stole the man's white Toyota Tundra.

The district, in a statement released to FOX 5 News, said they have three people in custody. The statement read in part:

“We are thankful none of the staff members present in the building were harmed, and no students were present. Three young men were identified as the perpetrators, and the district will take all appropriate and available actions to ensure they are brought to justice. There is no place for such acts in our community.”

Police said people have spotted the Mercedes in Lithonia and Decatur.

The school district said they are cooperating with the DeKalb County Police Department on the case.
