Mother Shot in the Head

ATLANTA, Ga. - Atlanta Police said someone shot a mother in the head after a struggle inside her apartment.

Around 1 p.m., police rushed to the the Pavilion Place Apartments on Cleveland Avenue SW, after investigators said the father of their children found the mother injured and called 911.

The woman was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition. Around 6 p.m. Saturday evening, detectives said the woman was in stable but critical condition.

Neighbors said the mother has at least two very young children. No word if the children were present during the time of the shooting.

"That's cruel. I know for a fact, she had a baby in a stroller," said one neighbor, who wanted to be known as Miss Taylor.

"It just hurt me that something like that happened to her," said another neighbor, who said she would often see the young children.
