Mother charged with murdering daughter's fiancé
CLARKSTON, Ga. - The mother accused of plotting to shoot and kill the father of her daughter’s unborn baby appeared in court Friday.
Paw Law, 57, was arrested earlier this month after investigators said she shot 17-year-old Nyapoelaw Eh in the head, hand, and abdomen.
Eh and his 18-year-old fiancée, Madaya Be, told Law they planned to move to Wisconsin and get married. After, an argument ensued. Police said Law went to a pawn shop and purchased a handgun with the intent of shooting and killing the 17-year-old the next day.
Law reportedly tried to turn the gun on herself, but her daughter wrestled the weapon away.
Be said she was four months pregnant with Eh’s child at the time.
Law speaks Karin, the language of a people within the country of Myanmar. Investigators said they had to obtain a translator to speak with her about the ordeal before she could appear in court.
