Mother, Brother Arrested in Shooting Death of 8-Year-Old Girl

PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. - Paulding County Sheriff's deputies have arrested the mother and adult brother of an 8-year-old girl who died after a gunshot wound in October.

It happened the afternoon of Oct. 17 at a home near the corner of Fairview Drive and Fairview Oak Place. Investigators said Marsha Lynch told them a gun fell off a table and went off, hitting Sharia Lynch and her mother. Both were rushed to hospital, but the Sharia did not make it.

Investigations said they initially believed that the incident was an accident, but have since uncovered evidence that contradicts their statements.

Police have charged Marsha Lynch with obstruction and Sharia's brother Quincy is charged with involuntary manslaughter and reckless conduct.
