Morehouse College students purchase bed for child in need
ATLANTA - Some Morehouse College students delivered a brand new bed to a child in need this week.
Representatives from a service organization called Insight Initiative said their goal was to help students at urban area schools.
At Dunbar Elementary School in southwest Atlanta, the counselor started an "angel tree" so volunteers could help buy Christmas presents for low income students.
A volunteer from the program said the Morehouse students purchased the bed and then Mattress Fast provided a new mattress to go with it.
"We were all touched by her story and we wanted to make sure that was the first child we found a sponsor for," the volunteers told FOX 5.
Destiny had asked for a new bed because the one she was sleeping on had bed bugs.
