BUTTS COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - A man accused of entering a police chief's house and trying to assault his adult daughter has another charge added against him.
Marquirius Deonte McClendon, 24, of Butts County, was booked into the Butts County Detention Center on burglary charges. Friday, they added an aggravated assault charge.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said McClendon showed up at the chief’s home on Moore Road around 11 a.m. The victim was reportedly the chief’s 33-year-old daughter, who had filed a restraining order against McClendon, her ex-boyfriend.
Police said McClendon went to the woman’s car and took her house key before entering the home. The woman was the only one home at the time, but she was sleeping. Police said she woke up to her ex-boyfriend standing over her wearing a mask. Police said he pulled her out of her bed and tried to tape her, but she was able to fight him off.
The GBI said they are investigating the incident along the Butts County Sheriff’s Office.
