Missing Rockdale County person found dead in their home

ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Investigators spent Friday afternoon working the scene where a missing woman was found dead inside her home.

The Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a home on Lester Road just after 1 p.m.

Deputies said a neighbor came across the body after she had not reported to their work and had not been seen for a while.

The sheriff is now calling the woman's death "suspicious."

Family members told police they became concerned when they found the woman's car a few blocks away on Tuesday. 

Officials have not yet released the identity of the woman or how they died. They are expected to release the cause of death Saturday.
