Missing Alabama man found shot dead in Georgia

LAGRANGE, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Investigators are trying to piece together the murder of a missing Alabama man found in LaGrange, Georgia.

According to LaGrange Police, officers received information on the night of Jan. 22 that a man reported missing three days earlier may have been in the area of Mooty Bridge Road near Wal-Mart Road.

Officers went to search the area. At around 12:58 a.m. they found they found a vehicle on the 100 block of Spring Street.

Inside the vehicle was the man, identified as Malenko Cooley. An investigation told police that Cooley had been shot in the upper torso, killing him.
