Miss America contestants and volunteers joined forces with their friends and family by participating in community service activities on Saturday.

The funds raised for Miss America Serves will be given to local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals as a tribute for their tireless community service offered day and night.

Miss Capital City Patricia Ford visited patients and families at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Egleston. Ford, who is a ballet dancer, dressed up in costume and brought balloons for the children and also performed for them.

“I was so excited to be team captain for our project this year for Miss America’s National Day of Service. This is my platform and I love to support the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and visit with the kids,” said Ford.

Ford has raised over $4,000 for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals!  If you would like to be a part of giving back to this amazing organization, you can still contribute here.
